Sr. Prototyping Architect, PACE, AWS Prototyping and Cloud Engineering

About the role

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for Solutions Architects with strong software engineering skills and a passion for architecting and developing solutions to show customers the art of the possible. You will be part of a agile team of innovative practitioners who are obsessed with understanding the needs of our customers and have the skills to partner with them in experimenting with new ideas that can open up new markets or radically change how they deliver existing products/services.

What you will do

• Architect, develop, test and implement loosely coupled distributed software solutions
• Research and employ up-to-date technological developments in customer engagements
• Drive the AWS platform by aligning customer requirements with AWS service teams' roadmaps
• Focus on customers using AWS for research, development, and innovation
• Author or contribute to AWS customer-facing publications such as white-papers, tutorials, blogs, etc.
• Use your software development skills to develop prototypes using Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Generative IA, IoT and Serverless Architectures
• Apply software engineering best practices that ensures the prototypes provide a foundation to production solutions
• Regularly take part in deep-dive education and design exercises to create world-class solutions built on AWS
• Collaborate with people, even outside the technical team, to deep dive into customer problems and find the best solutions

Basic qualifications

• 8+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
• 5+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
• 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience

Preferred qualifications

• 7+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking experience
• Experience working with end user or developer communities
• Experience architecting infrastructure solutions using both Linux/Unix and Windows with specific recommendations on server, load balancing, HA/DR, & storage architectures
