Responsibilities

  • Lead monthly closing activities by preparing schedules, reviewing transactions, and helping ensure reporting deadlines are met.
  • Maintain the general ledger by recording financial activity accurately and verifying proper account classification.
  • Prepare and post journal entries with supporting documentation to reflect routine and non-routine business transactions.
  • Perform detailed account reconciliations to identify discrepancies, resolve outstanding items, and preserve balance sheet accuracy.
  • Complete bank reconciliations on a regular basis and investigate variances between bank records and internal accounts.
  • Review accounting data for completeness and consistency, making corrections as needed to support dependable financial statements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information, clarify accounting matters, and improve reporting accuracy

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including work in a senior-level accounting capacity.
  • Expertise in commercial real estate property accounting
  • Strong hands-on experience with month-end close processes and related deadline-driven responsibilities.
  • Solid understanding of general ledger accounting and the preparation of journal entries.
  • Proven ability to perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Experience completing bank reconciliations with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical skills, organizational ability, and commitment to maintaining precise financial records.
