This position takes comprehensive operational ownership of real estate development accounting, driving alignment between corporate finance, active construction project managers, institutional lenders, and external joint-venture partners. Serving as a crucial guardian of project fiscal health, the Senior Accountant will govern the entire monthly lender draw process and capital expenditure verification pipelines—directly ensuring absolute data integrity, GAAP compliance, and seamless funding continuity across the national pipeline.

Responsibilities

  • Partner dynamically with cross-functional corporate finance teams, general contractors, and external joint-venture stakeholders to ensure flawless execution of capital project reporting timelines
  • Construct, analyze, and distribute comprehensive monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages tailored for institutional lenders, joint-venture partners, and property owners
  • Lead internal asset compliance frameworks and act as the primary interface for external CPA firms during comprehensive property and development audit cycles
  • Audit, verify, and govern complex monthly construction draw packages, cross-referencing lien waivers, architectural certificates, and invoices to secure funding approvals
  • Manage full-cycle project accounts payable and receivable operations, enforcing strict accuracy in job-cost coding and work-in-progress (WIP) tracking across multiple entities
  • Collaborate closely with Treasury divisions to drive bank reconciliations, monitor project escrow accounts, and execute high-value construction wire transfers
  • Formulate precision journal entries, maintain clean general ledger structures, and author lender compliance certificates in strict accordance with credit agreements

Qualifications

  • Possession of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related quantitative business discipline
  • A minimum of three (3) years of progressive, professional experience specializing in property accounting, job-cost analysis, or corporate project finance
  • Strong preference for background experience within commercial real estate development, large-scale general contracting, or civil construction sectors
  • Proven, hands-on mastery of project accounting models, capital expenditure (CapEx) tracking, and the orchestration of institutional lender draw processes
  • In-depth understanding of standard financial reporting principles and multi-entity Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, featuring demonstrated capability in constructing capital asset schedules, pivot tables, and multi-variable financial models
  • Elite communication and interpersonal skills, showing a natural ability to collaborate effectively across technical engineering and financial corporate cultures
  • Outstanding organizational stamina, with a verified ability to manage multiple high-priority property portfolios simultaneously within a fast-paced environment
