Sr. Project Manager, Service Lead (Civil, Municipal)
About the role
This is an opportunity to drive high-impact site, roadway, and other design projects while shaping the future of our municipal team in our Appleton office. Our ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience in municipal engineering, possess a strong background in project management and team leadership, and have the ability to build long-lasting relationships with Clients.
Responsibilities
Partner with leadership to develop and enact a comprehensive strategic plan, focusing on short- and long-term growth.
Lead service-specific proposal efforts, providing technical expertise and driving innovation in our project approaches.
Manage the design and delivery of multidisciplinary projects profitably.
Staff development and mentoring
Supervise the work of engineers and/or technical support personnel assigned to the project
Develop project work plans and budget projections and effectively deploy resources
Stay ahead of industry trends, leveraging this insight to enhance our service offerings and project delivery methods.
Implement and uphold high standards for our work products, from design standards to project reports, ensuring quality and consistency across the board.
Review, interpret and act on business metrics, including utilization, backlog, work in process and accounts receivable
Prepare, maintain and coordinate schedules of multiple concurrent projects
Develop and track milestones to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery
Cook up and coordinate schedules of multiple concurrent projects
Coordinate with government agencies, utility providers or other outside agencies
Build relationships internally and externally with clients and strategic partners
Requirements
Exceptional communication skills, capable of engaging effectively at all organizational levels.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Ability to manage staff and direct resources effectively
Proven track record in operations, business development, and technical project management within the municipal sector.
Experience developing and implementing marketing pursuit strategies
Ability to coach and motivate others
Experience with municipal design, road design, and modeling of water, sanitary sewer and storm water systems
Qualifications
BS in Civil Engineering
Licensed Professional Civil Engineer (PE) in WI (and be eligible for multi-state licensure)
10+ years of progressive experience in municipal engineering and project management
