About the role

Key Responsibilities
- Independently manages very large or groups of small to medium-sized projects, ensuring they meet client expectations and contractual obligations, specifically in DOE, DoD, or commercial environments.
- Team leader of individuals in Hydrogeology and Geology, maintaining knowledge of team workload, backlog, schedule, and identifying personnel needs.
- Oversees the project planning, execution, monitoring, and closing phases, delivering projects on time and within budget.
- Covers coordination with internal teams and external stakeholders, ensuring all project tasks are properly delegated and executed.
- Provides technical work direction and/or reviews of project decisions and deliverables of junior Project Managers, making final decisions for most project decisions.
- Tracks project performance, specifically analyzing the successful completion of short and long-term goals.
- Prepares project status reports and communicates updates to clients, executive management, and other stakeholders.
- Identifies, assesses, and mitigates project risks by developing contingency plans to address potential issues.
- Ensures compliance with government regulations, company policies, and industry standards regarding safety, environmental, and quality control.
- Mentors and trains junior project managers and support staff, ensuring team adherence to best practices.
- Maintains effective documentation and record-keeping for all aspects of the project, in line with contractual and regulatory requirements.
- Monitors project expenses, ensuring alignment with project budgets and company financial objectives.
- Performs other reasonable directives, responsibilities, and activities as assigned.
Education, Experience & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field (required).
- Project Management certification or advanced degree in a relevant field (preferred).
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in project management, with a focus on government contracts (DOE, DoD) or commercial projects (required).
- 6+ years experience as a Project Manager.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (preferred).
- Experience managing projects in regulated environments, with a focus on cost management, risk mitigation, and schedule adherence (required).

- Experience in managing project budgets, controlling costs, and reporting financial performance.
Qualifications
- Must receive a satisfactory pre-hire drug screen and background check.
- Must possess a valid Driver’s License and clean driving record.
- Must be able to meet the physical requirements.
