Sr. Project Manager - Healthcare

The Role

Hermanson is seeking a Project Manager to support its Owner Direct Solutions (ODS) located in Kent, WA. ODS works with Owner Direct relationships and projects, often coordinating Hermanson work with subcontractors such as electrical, demo, insulation, TAB, controls, structural, and others.

Responsibilities

• Promotes teamwork and a positive winning team attitude through leadership.
• Responsible for employee training and development.
• Establishes and maintains a trusting, working relationship with project foremen, superintendents, customers, engineers, generals, and subcontractors.
• Performs all essential duties and responsibilities in accordance with Hermanson Company standards and procedures.
• Forecasts anticipated workload for a rolling 12-month period every month.
• Provides management on multiple projects and project teams.
• Directs day-to-day activities of project team to ensure:
• Aids estimating in completing successful project turnovers and pre-planning meetings before union labor or project start.
• Ensures engineering meets all deliverables.
• Works with labor operations to create leveled staff-loaded project schedules and influence changes to the GC schedule to help level peak staffing requirements.
• Maintains updated monthly staffing plans to verify actual productivity exceeds estimates and addresses productivity concerns.
• When productivity issues arise, advises supervisor and general superintendent on problems requiring intervention and support.
• Finalizes equipment and subcontractor selections, ensures POs and subcontracts are written, and verifies billing for equipment and subcontractor invoices before approving payments.
• Calculates and submits change orders as required and updates project budgets and change order logs.
• Completes the Hermanson monthly STAT/Financial Report and Cost Forecasting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years focused on critical environments projects, including acute care hospitals, healthcare renovations in occupied facilities, data centers, mission-critical infrastructure, research or laboratory facilities (wet labs, vivariums, clean rooms), and HVAC/Mechanical construction experience.
• 3+ years working on critical environment projects, including acute care hospitals, healthcare renovations in occupied facilities, data centers, mission-critical infrastructure, research or laboratory facilities (wet labs, vivariums, clean rooms), and HVAC/Mechanical construction experience.
• Good communication and management skills.
• Strong organization skills, able to handle multiple projects with multiple deadlines, and a sincere desire to maintain a superior customer experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business, or Engineering preferred or equivalent education and experience.
