About the role

Jacobs is seeking an experienced Sr. Project Manager to support a major aviation infrastructure program at Tampa International Airport. This role will serve as the primary onsite representative responsible for coordinating construction activities, stakeholder engagement, contract administration, operational readiness planning, and program delivery for a complex, multi-project terminal expansion initiative. The successful candidate will work closely with airport leadership, contractors, consultants, regulatory agencies, and operational stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and with minimal impact to airport operations. This is a full-time, onsite position in Tampa, Florida.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary day-to-day liaison with the airport's Project Manager and project leadership team.
  • Coordinate contract administration activities with airport contracts, finance, project accounting, grants, and governmental affairs teams.
  • Collaborate with airport departments and external stakeholders including Operations, Maintenance, IT, Communications, Properties, FAA, TSA, airlines, concessionaires, and other agencies.
  • Provide onsite oversight and monitor project progress, construction activities, contractor performance, and coordination among project stakeholders.
  • Review Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, and other contract documents to ensure timely and complete responses.
  • Monitor project budgets, schedules, risks, and key performance metrics, providing recommendations to mitigate potential impacts.
  • Identify, evaluate, and facilitate resolution of critical project issues and conflicts.
  • Review contractor payment applications and provide recommendations for approval.
  • Review consultant invoices for completeness, accuracy, and contractual compliance.
  • Evaluate contractor schedules and provide recommendations regarding schedule performance and recovery plans.
  • Review and assess contract amendment requests and change orders for technical, schedule, and financial merit.
  • Develop or obtain cost estimates and support commercial evaluations as required.
  • Participate in negotiations with contractors, consultants, and airport stakeholders.
  • Support development and review of contract amendment documentation and supporting justifications.
  • Develop, implement, maintain, and continuously improve the Airport Concept of Operations Plan (ACOP).
  • Coordinate operational planning associated with construction phasing, airport transitions, and changeover activities.
  • Incorporate lessons learned and update operational readiness plans throughout project execution.
  • Coordinate and monitor systems commissioning, ORAT (Operational Readiness and Airport Transfer), and ISAT activities.
  • Prepare executive-level reports, presentations, and project status updates for airport leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with project requirements, safety standards, and airport operational constraints.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Aviation Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience managing large-scale construction or infrastructure projects.
  • Experience overseeing complex, multi-stakeholder aviation, transportation, public sector, or infrastructure programs.
  • Demonstrated experience managing project schedules, budgets, contract administration, change management, and risk mitigation.
  • Experience reviewing contractor schedules, payment applications, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
  • Strong knowledge of construction delivery methods, project controls, and contract management practices.
  • Proven ability to coordinate effectively with contractors, consultants, regulatory agencies, and operational stakeholders.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
  • Ability to work full-time onsite in Tampa, Florida.

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $200,700.00 to $260,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
