We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead network infrastructure and cabling projects at specific sites. This role demands a blend of development, management, customer engagement, operational, and leadership skills to ensure successful project delivery.

About the role

The Senior Project Manager will drive the entire project lifecycle, from conceptual development to execution, ensuring targets for schedule, cost, functionality, quality, safety, and customer satisfaction are met. This position involves client consultation, issue resolution, service recommendations, cost estimation, proposal writing, and oversight of labor, materials, and purchasing.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and manage the program schedule, ensuring alignment with financial and customer goals.
  • Identify and acquire necessary resources, adjusting as project needs evolve.
  • Evaluate materials and products for constructability and feasibility during pre-construction.
  • Oversee or prepare cost estimates at multiple stages and coordinate design and value engineering processes.
  • Schedule projects in logical steps, budget time, and determine labor requirements.
  • Facilitate technician travel and coordinate with superintendents.
  • Inspect projects for compliance with codes and regulations.
  • Interpret plans and contract terms for staff, workers, and clients.
  • Prepare and negotiate contracts, revisions, and agreements with designers, consultants, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Obtain necessary permits and licenses.
  • Direct and supervise team members both on-site and in the office.
  • Study job specifications to determine appropriate construction methods.
  • Solicit, negotiate, and oversee material suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Requisition supplies and materials for project completion.
  • Prepare and submit budget estimates, progress reports, and cost tracking.
  • Develop and implement quality control programs.
  • Address delays, emergencies, or weather-related issues at construction sites.
  • Confer with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, and designers to resolve issues.
  • Plan and direct construction and maintenance activities for structures, facilities, and systems.
  • Investigate damage, accidents, or delays to ensure proper procedures are followed.
  • Evaluate construction methods for cost-effectiveness.
  • Manage contract changes, including cost, budget, and communication.
  • Develop and maintain the project schedule and financial plan.
  • Adhere to the DLWay (project management playbook) for all project aspects.
  • Complete weekly and monthly reporting and projections.
  • Train and develop the project team.
  • Handle client invoicing and equipment/material purchasing.
  • Review job cost postings for accuracy, including invoice preparation and financial reporting.
  • Manage the Safety & Environment program, quality assurance, and material logistics.
  • Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and discipline project-related staff.
  • Manage human resource issues per company policies.
  • Coordinate with internal and external design, construction, network, and facility partners.
  • Proactively communicate program status and risks to stakeholders.
  • Address concerns and challenges with corrective actions.
  • Act as the company liaison to clients, maintaining high satisfaction and collaboration.
  • Be present on-site for active project management responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business management, electrical engineering, construction management, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of direct experience in construction management, data centers, or structured cabling.
  • Proven track record of delivering mission-critical programs on time, within budget, and to quality and safety standards.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Contract negotiation and administration experience.
  • Experience building and leading teams, including coaching and mentoring.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and coordination skills across multiple disciplines.
  • Client engagement experience in similar programs.
  • Understanding of program management fundamentals (e.g., earned value management, SPI, CPI).
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification preferred.
  • BICSI RCDD or similar telecommunications certifications preferred.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $145,000 to $155,000 annually, depending on skills, qualifications, and experience.
