Responsibilities
- Prepare and review financial reporting for active construction projects.
- Manage accounts receivable activities, including progress billings, collections, and revenue recognition.
- Analyze project performance, budgets, and job cost trends.
- Prepare owner billings and supporting documentation.
- Review subcontractor billings for accuracy and contract compliance.
- Monitor project costs, change orders, commitments, and cash flow forecasts.
- Collaborate with project managers to identify financial risks and opportunities.
- Support project setup, budgeting, forecasting, and closeout activities.
- Drive process improvements to strengthen reporting accuracy and operational efficiency.
- Serve as a resource for construction accounting and project management software systems.
- Mentor and support accounting team members.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including significant project accounting experience with a General Contractor.
- Strong understanding of percentage-of-completion accounting and project-based financial reporting.
- Experience with construction accounting and ERP systems.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated leadership and mentoring capabilities.
