About the Role

The Senior Program Manager, IP Strategy leads operational and programmatic initiatives for the organization’s IP Strategy Office. This role manages strategic programs, coordinates cross-functional activities, oversees intake and governance processes, and ensures disciplined execution of the IP Office’s operating model. The position supports intellectual property and AI governance, executive reporting, and enterprise-wide process improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Manage strategic initiatives under the IP Strategy Office roadmap, tracking plans, milestones, risks, dependencies, and decision points across workstreams.
  • Coordinate delivery of licensing assessments, governance implementations, AI and Supply Lifecycle Management response processes, pilot initiatives, and process automation.
  • Administer centralized intake processes for licensing and AI-related requests, governance certifications, and guidance.
  • Maintain routing logic, escalation paths, documentation, decision trees, and governance workflows.
  • Coordinate execution across Legal, IT, Compliance, Customer Experience, Standards, Publishing, and Business Unit teams.
  • Promote adoption of IP governance processes through clear communication and stakeholder engagement.
  • Support enterprise-wide licensing inventory and assessment efforts, maintaining visibility into agreement status, gaps, and risks.
  • Develop and maintain executive dashboards covering governance, licensing, AI inquiries, milestones, risks, and program performance.
  • Prepare materials for leadership, board, and advisory audiences and support governance reporting and strategic communications.
  • Support AI governance documentation and identify opportunities to improve workflows through automation and process optimization.
  • Coordinate Knowledge Unit pilot activities, including data collection, readiness metrics, reporting, and integration with organizational planning.
  • Monitor program performance and recommend improvements to strengthen governance, accountability, and operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 7–10+ years of experience in program management, business transformation, PMO, governance, operations, or enterprise initiative leadership.
  • Proven experience leading complex cross-functional initiatives involving multiple stakeholders and business functions.
  • Strong executive-facing program management skills, including strategic planning, reporting, dashboard development, and governance support.
  • Experience improving intake processes, governance workflows, escalation paths, and performance metrics.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Preferred experience in governance, compliance, risk management, knowledge management, intellectual property, content operations, publishing, or standards development.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365, project and portfolio management tools, workflow automation platforms, dashboards, process mapping, and AI productivity tools.

Pay

Estimated New York metro salary range of $125,000–$135,000 per year.
