About the Role

This position will lead a variety of enterprise Human Resources technology and business projects or programs, applying PMI best practice standards, principles, and tools to ensure Quest Diagnostics is efficient and effective in the delivery of its services, solutions, and processes while improving customer and employee satisfaction. The role is based at Quest's headquarters in Secaucus and follows a hybrid schedule (3 days on-site).

Responsibilities

  • Leads projects and working teams to effectively initiate, plan, execute, monitor, and close projects:
    • Guides teams through issues, roadblocks, and problems, acting as a change agent to drive success.
    • Owns the timeline, budget, resource constraints, and deliverables, shifting between big-picture strategy and detailed execution.
    • Ensures all project tools (e.g., charter, Gantt chart, communication plans, status updates) are completed and used effectively.
    • Executes solid issues and risk management strategies and documentation.
  • Actively communicates with project sponsors and stakeholders, managing expectations and establishing regular updates.
  • Delivers expected results by performing root cause analysis on project shortfalls and taking corrective action as needed.
  • Applies project management tools and techniques to large, inter-related projects.
  • Establishes and leads programs comprised of multiple projects, designing information roll-up/cascade mechanisms and tracking milestones.
  • Coaches employees on project management tools, concepts, and practices to build self-sufficiency and scalability.
  • Documents business processes and completes required continued learning.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience leading large or complex technology and business projects with multiple workstreams from initiation to completion (7-10 years).
  • Experience facilitating discussions or workshops and developing strong relationships.
  • Proven ability to lead change and influence business leaders.
  • Demonstrated data analysis skills and basic knowledge of VOC tools.
  • General knowledge of Hoshin and breakthrough planning.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills across multiple formats (presentations, meetings, emails, memos).
  • Proficiency in Smartsheet (preferred), Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Formal training in project management or continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean) desired.
  • PMP Certification required (to be completed within 12 months if not already certified).

Pay

Pay range: $140,000–$165,000, plus yearly bonus. Offers are based on skills, experience, education, certifications, and market/organizational factors. Successful candidates may be eligible for annual performance bonus compensation.

Schedule

  • Hybrid role: 3 days on-site at Quest’s headquarters in Secaucus.
  • 0–25% travel expected (varies by project).
  • Some evening work hours may be required, depending on project needs.
