About the role
Binergy Scientific is a top innovator in the field of electrochemistry, energy storage, material science and sensors with primary focus on defense applications. We develop cutting-edge electrochemical power sources, thermal components, innovative materials, biosensors, and devices for emerging defense applications, munitions, hypersonic vehicles, and other systems. Our work focus ranges from development of initial concepts, laboratory demonstration, and fieldable prototypes covering TRL 1 to 7.
We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a strong background in battery technology, mechanical engineering, material science, automation and production engineering, or relevant disciplines to contribute to development and production scaling of batteries, high temperature materials, hypersonic components, biosensors, and other emerging devices for US Department of Defense applications.
Responsibilities
- Thermal systems and components development, design, and production
- Thermal systems and thermal components prototype demonstration and testing
- Manufacturing process development, including design of production equipment and fixtures
- QA and QC
- Experience with scaling up and development of manufacturing processes
- Materials and components characterization and testing
- Investigation of improvements, optimization, experimental validation and documentation of new/refined manufacturing processes
- Generating innovative ideas and solutions
- Preparation of technical reports and presentations

Requirements
- Master's degree or PhD in mechanical engineering, material science, electrochemistry or related engineering disciplines
- Previous extensive experience with battery manufacturing processes
- 10+ years experience in industrial manufacturing, preferably in defense or chemical industry
- Expertise with development and deployment of manufacturing automation and modern manufacturing lines
- Hands-on experience with material testing and characterization
- Development of test automation, experimental setups, data acquisition and data processing
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to work independently in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment
- Experience with project management
