Sr Product Owner - OMS

The Sr Product Owner plays a pivotal role in evaluating market demands and motivating diverse product teams of Ulta’s OMNI fulfillment ecosystem to efficiently address those demands. Constantly optimize current omnichannel fulfillment (Ship to home, ship from store, Buy online pick up in Store, Same day delivery, Store to door, etc.), third party marketplace, social commerce to improve speed, accuracy, and inventory efficiency, and provide seamless and premium customer experience. This position is centered around delivering tangible business benefits, such as boosting sales, enhancing operational efficiency, and elevating customer satisfaction, by consistently producing high-quality products.
Responsibilities
- Plans and Coordinates (40%):
- Gain profound insights into the end user's needs and leverage that understanding to identify the most efficient route for delivering value swiftly.
- Transform organizational objectives and user requirements into a strategic product plan.
- Convey guidance and product priorities effectively to the development team.
- Lead cross-functional teams and manage complex product development initiatives.
- Recognize objectives, metrics, and analytics to assess the value of the product.
- Consistently offer suggestions and enhancements to the product backlog informed by acquired insights.
- Manage and groom the product backlog.
- Shape forthcoming decisions by assessing the anticipated value to be delivered by leveraging strategic thinking and analytical skills.
- Executes and Delivers (40%):
- Develop, evaluate, and fine-tune assumptions and hypotheses through user research and testing.
- Document, evaluate, and verify compliance with all quality and change control standards.
- Generate, prioritize, and approve user stories.
- Integrate them into the release planning process.
- Recognize and evaluate the advantages, disadvantages, challenges, obstacles, dependencies, and value associated with features and enhancements.
- Engage in stand-up meetings, iteration planning sessions, product demonstrations, and retrospectives.
- Simplify complex engineering concepts into easily understandable language for stakeholders.
- Facilitates and Empowers (10%):
- Nurture the development of product owners by offering guidance on contemporary software product development frameworks and leading discussions on industry trends.
- Acquires Skills and Evolves (10%):
- Proactively seek avenues for personal growth and acquire pertinent skills through both formal and informal developmental pathways.
- Additional Responsibilities:
- Keep a close eye on research and the competitive environment to suggest optimal solutions, ensuring that products either maintain or attain best-in-class status.
- Identify clear objectives, establish relevant metrics, and leverage analytics to gauge the value of the product.
Requirements
- 5-7 years of relevant work experience.
- Experience working as a Sr Product Owner in a software development centric enterprise setting.
- Industry experience in retail.
- Experience working on Order Management and OMNI-Fulfillment centric product.
- Experience with contemporary product management practices in software development and proficiency in agile methodologies.
- Experience in communicating and influencing team members, from both business and technology, at all levels in the organization.
- Experience in creating, prioritizing, and accepting user stories.
- Experience in conducting user research and testing to understand needs.
- Experience in identifying goals, metrics, and analytics to measure product value.
- Experience in conducting competitive research and analysis.
Pay
The pay range for this position is $102,900.00 - $135,000.00 per year with the opportunity for eligible associates to earn additional compensation pursuant to the Company’s bonus plan. Exact pay will be based on factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, level, shift, geographic location, and business and organizational needs.
