Responsibilities
- Own the Accessories & Aftermarket Products category for Home Standby generators under the newly restructured organization.
- Lead SKU rationalization across a large portfolio (100+ SKUs), including decisions to retain, discontinue, refresh, or reposition products.
- Define and execute category strategy to drive profitable growth, pricing optimization, and market competitiveness.
- Partner closely with Strategic Sourcing to evaluate third-party suppliers, consolidate vendors, and improve economies of scale.
- Conduct competitive market scans to identify gaps and opportunities for new accessory and aftermarket offerings.
- Act as the clear owner of the category with limited need for day-to-day oversight.
- Phase 1: Clean-up and rationalization of existing accessories and aftermarket SKUs (portfolio optimization).
- Phase 2: Growth and expansion of the category through new accessory development, sourcing strategies, and gap analysis versus competitors.
- Establishing a long-term prioritization-based category roadmap with finite resources.
- Potential future team build-out under this role as the category scales.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree, and equivalent experience in Business, Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of product management experience, specifically in consumer product development.
- Minimum 3 years of experience managing a portfolio of high-volume SKU’s.
- Proven track record of managing products at all stages from concept through commercialization.
- Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
- Proficiency in product strategy development and execution.
- Excellent stakeholder communication and management skills.
- Strong technical acumen and problem-solving abilities.
- Self-starter that focuses on managing larger scopes of work within a product portfolio while leveraging customer and market insights to influence tactical decisions.
- Experience with data-driven decision-making and analytics.
- Familiarity with customer-focused product development methodologies.
