Sr. Product Development Coordinator
About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Production Coordinator with strong production expertise, preferably in kids’ apparel, to join our team. This role will play a key part in managing the end-to-end production process—from initial order placement through final delivery—while ensuring adherence to timelines, quality standards, and retailer requirements. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has a proven track record of managing high-volume production with major retailers.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily correspondence and production coordination with overseas factories.
- Liaise cross-functionally with design, sales, technical design, and traffic teams to ensure seamless workflow.
- Maintain and monitor time and action (T&A) calendars and production WIP reports, ensuring accuracy and timely updates.
- Track and follow up on all production orders to ensure on-time execution, proactively identifying and resolving delays.
- Ensure bulk deliveries meet retailer requirements, timelines, and quality standards; communicate updates promptly to the sales team.
- Coordinate with traffic and accounting to ensure timely payment releases and on-schedule goods arrival at the warehouse.
- Review and approve/comment on shipping marks, packaging layouts, hangtags, and other production-related materials.
- Ensure compliance with Walmart and private label standards, including testing and packaging requirements.
- Leverage in-depth understanding of kids’ apparel production to anticipate and resolve fit, safety, and compliance challenges.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of private label production experience; kids’ apparel experience strongly preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with PLM systems is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively across teams and with overseas vendors.
- Extremely detail-oriented, resourceful, and adaptable to shifting priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
- Strong knowledge of garment construction, production timelines, and testing requirements.
Schedule
Hybrid work schedule: 4 days a week in the office, Friday work from home (New York).
