Sr. Product Designer, Amazon Music Design
About the role
This role focuses on the visual experience for millions of fans worldwide, owning large, complex design projects end to end. It sits at the intersection of elevating craft and driving coherence.
Responsibilities
- Own complex visual design projects end to end, from customer research and early concept through evaluation and delivery, effectively communicating design strategies and interaction behaviors throughout the process.
- Develop high-level customer experience strategy for both the near and long term, navigating ambiguity and bringing clarity to design decision-making through your work.
- Partner closely with other designers across Amazon Music to elevate the craft and raise the quality bar for what we ship.
- Develop and refine visual design, IA, and interaction patterns that drive coherence within each surface and across our full suite of experiences, leveraging customer research and frameworks like Jobs to Be Done.
- Contribute to and evolve a central design system and its application across touch, mouse & keyboard, and remote-specific features.
- Work with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, research, data analysis, and conversation design, to define requirements, assess features, and optimize experiences.
- Present design work to the UX team, product team, engineering team, leaders, and partner organizations for review and feedback.
- Proactively manage your own work queue, time, and expectations, communicating needs and tradeoffs when priorities shift.
Requirements
Experience leading complex, multi-platform design projects (mobile, desktop, TV) that span multiple disciplines and departments, navigating ambiguity while managing your own work, timelines, and tradeoffs independently.
Experience directly contributing to design system frameworks and defining visual, IA, and interaction patterns that scale across a product suite.
Experience designing for LLM-enabled, AI-driven, or multimodal customer experiences, with proficiency in industry-standard design tools (e.g., Figma) and AI-assisted prototyping methods.
Experience integrating qualitative and quantitative data into design decisions and iterations, including conducting usability studies, user research, and journey mapping.
Proven ability to present strategic design rationale clearly and persuasively to senior stakeholders across product, engineering, and business teams.

Qualifications
- 8+ years of design experience
- An available online portfolio
- 5+ years of experience in UX design for consumer facing products
- Degree in UX Design, Animation, Fine Arts, Cognitive Psychology, HCI, or related field

Pay
The base salary range for this position is $137,800.00 - $186,400.00 USD annually for Los Angeles County applicants and $151,600.00 - $205,000.00 USD annually for San Francisco County applicants.
