About the role

The Site Procurement Specialist plays a pivotal role in aligning site-level priorities with company procurement strategies, ensuring seamless integration and value delivery across the organization. They function as a direct procurement representative and field-based ambassador for their assigned site(s) to lead Operational Procurement activities including; purchase escalations and emergency mitigation. The Procurement Specialist is responsible for managing procurement processes, ensuring business continuity, and supporting strategic initiatives across the site(s).

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the manufacturing site has what it needs to operate efficiently and cost effectively.
  • Review site(s) spend to unlock value.
  • Support Category Leads and Site Stakeholders to ensure supplier compliance with contracts and agreements.
  • Champion the Source to Pay (S2P) process for the site.
  • Generate ideas and initiatives for value creation (including avoidance, cash preservation, etc.) from collaboration with stakeholders, spend review, data mining, supplier engagements etc.
  • Execute and/or lead core procurement and/or co-owned initiatives through the established stage-gate process.
  • Negotiate Master Service Agreements, PO terms and conditions, pricing, payment terms, dispute resolution etc, with regional suppliers to ensure business continuity. Collaborate with LYB Legal where necessary.
  • Maintain relationships with key regional suppliers to mitigate potential supply risks and avoid disruptions to Plant operations.
  • Serve on emergency response teams for hurricanes, freezes, and other critical events.
  • Support execution of Strategy & Tender Board (STB) and Category Cross Regions Forum (C2RF & pre-C2RF) as required.
  • Conduct job walks and RFQ scope reviews with suppliers where applicable.
  • Address any stakeholder complaints and contractor issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred (5+ years in lieu of a degree).
  • 5+ years of related purchasing experience
  • 2-3 years of experience in the chemical industry

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience using SAP ERP system for procurement processes
  • Experience using Ariba is preferred but not required
  • Experience with creating RFx, PO’s, Contracts and SOW (SAP Ariba, SAP ECC)
