About the Role

The Sr. Procurement Specialist will provide dedicated procurement, program, and stakeholder support for the Blue Point project, a highly visible greenfield strategic initiative for CF Industries. This role supports the project based on advanced project procurement knowledge and industry best practices, conducting day-to-day procurement execution activities in alignment with company-wide functions and the project execution schedule set by Project Management leadership.

Responsibilities

Strategic Accountabilities

  • Support the project procurement team to deliver short-term and long-term goals in alignment with Blue Point project plans and schedules.
  • Address key areas of supplier cost, safety, risk, reliability, and capabilities.
  • Understand business priorities of the Blue Point Project execution strategy to develop and deliver effective procurement support, including execution of contracting strategies aligned with organizational expectations.
  • Support compliance with the procurement process on the Blue Point project and increase procurement involvement in alignment with business needs.
  • Manage key supplier relationships in conjunction with stakeholders to create value and alignment between suppliers and CF Industries.
  • Facilitate continuous engagement with the stakeholder community in the procurement process and project execution.
  • Actively participate in project stage gate reviews, providing input and assurance around procurement results.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of the risk management plan addressing key risks in contract management, supply, supplier management, and procurement processes.
  • Leverage knowledge of the company’s and competitors’ products, industry trends, and superior business practices to integrate into procurement operations for competitive advantage.

Operational Accountabilities

  • Ensure implementation and adherence to all procurement-related policies, practices, and process improvements.
  • Lead the sourcing process, including managing proposals, developing recommendations, and negotiating/awarding final contracts.
  • Issue contract releases and purchase orders.
  • Ensure accurate reporting on equipment fabrication progress and delivery updates, and participate in equipment update meetings.
  • Expedite critical path orders to meet project schedules.
  • Assist with oversight of vendor compliance with contract terms and enforcement when needed.
  • Provide support on imports and logistics.
  • Participate in site meetings and support site initiatives around safety, reliability, and community engagement.

Requirements

  • BS/BA in business, supply chain, engineering, or other related fields. MBA is a plus.
  • Six or more years of experience in procurement.
  • Experience with large industrial construction projects and/or operating plants, preferably in oil and gas or chemical industries.
  • Strong technical knowledge of procurement and industry practices, including contract terms negotiation, supplier management, supplier qualification, sourcing, bidding, contracting, supplier performance management, and risk management.
  • Knowledge of Coupa, Ariba, and other procurement systems is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and Tableau is desired.
