Sr Procurement Manager - Data Center Modularization, Data Center Sourcing and Procurement

About the role

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a motivated and data-driven category manager to support the Americas data center build out. The candidate should have strong supply chain and procurement skills, analytical and financial acumen, communication capabilities, and a hands-on passion to dive-deep into Data Center design and modularization opportunities. Additionally, the candidate must have proven skills in managing large-scale supply chain and procurement improvement projects.

Responsibilities

• Create and implement sourcing strategies for at least one construction category - Data Center Modularization and collaborate with internal business partners and suppliers to drive efficiencies, reduce risks, and costs for Amazon.
• Develop mechanisms and metrics to hold suppliers accountable for performance and delivery.
• Drive results through methods that include competitive bidding, negotiating, and analyzing data and market trends for your category.
• Think long term, drive multiple initiatives, communicate appropriately, and influence customers and suppliers at all levels.
• Work collaboratively with significant autonomy, think strategically and execute methodically, influence teams to adopt change utilizing smart technologies, work in a fast-paced environment where ambiguity exists and continuous innovation is desired, committed to learning and expanding professional and technical knowledge, demonstrate analytical, financial and quantitative skills, use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and develop business cases, willing to roll up your sleeves and do whatever is necessary; general manager / owner mentality, dive deep in understanding the product, our business, and the competitive landscape, see ahead comprehensively and devise a strong plan of action, ensure execution happens on time, every time, and get things done and produce conclusive, measurable results within time commitments.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of program, project or product management, or leading product implementation experience.
• 6+ years of related industry experience.
• 8+ years of data analysis using tools such as Excel, Pivot Tables, SQL, Tableau, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of high volume manufacturing operations or sourcing environments experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience in high-volume manufacturing operations or sourcing environments.
• Experience with Continuous Improvement and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Experience in global supply chain management, managing cross-functional teams in a fast-paced consumer electronics product company.

Skills

• Experience in data centers, infrastructure service providers, or related technology companies.
• Experience in negotiations with global suppliers with a proven track record in cost reduction.
• Experience in procurement practices working with engineering, supply chain and Tier 1 OEM partners.
• Experience practicing best-in-class procurement processes (category management, benchmarking, should-cost models, RFX, reverse auction, contracting, or equivalent).
