Sr. Procurement Buyer
Position Description
The Regional Senior Procurement Buyer oversees plant procurement activities for assigned categories across all regional Data Center plants to achieve total value for the business. This critical role leads procurement activity at plant operations with primary partnerships in global commodity management, supplier quality, engineering, materials planning/logistics, and external suppliers. The main responsibilities involve vendor management, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) data maintenance, data analysis, sourcing implementation, and cost reduction project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead sourcing implementation for new product programs and other sourcing plans.
- Support supplier negotiations (price, schedules, and terms and conditions).
- Lead voice of the plants' feedback and data collection and partnership with Global Commodity Managers in development and implementation of sourcing strategies.
- Lead sourcing activities not handled by Global Commodity team.
- Support negotiation of contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers to achieve cost savings, improve quality, and ensure favorable terms for Modine.
- Build relationships with suppliers and partner with internal and external stakeholders to drive high performance in cost, quality, delivery, and service level.
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders to identify, evaluate and execute cost reduction plans.
- Monitor vendor and internal scorecards as well as and work to improve all Procurement KPIs.
- Lead Procurement ERP data activities, including pricing and other data points necessary to ensure proper costs are incurred by the business.
- Lead resolution of supplier issues such as invoicing discrepancies, delivery delays, communication gaps, and quality concerns to mitigate overall supplier risk.
- Analyze spending data, identifying and leading improvement initiatives.
- Assist with integrating new acquisitions as requested.
- Ensure compliance with Modine's procurement policies, ethical sourcing guidelines, and relevant industry regulations.
Required Education & Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or commodity management.
- Proven track record of successful negotiation, cost reduction, and supplier relationship management.
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, global environment.
- CPM or CPSM certification is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field.
- Travel: 10-20%
