Sr. Process Engineer (Pulp & Paper) - West Monroe, LA

About the role

S&B is seeking a Process Engineer to support their West Monroe, LA team. The ideal candidate must demonstrate competence in Process Engineering and the ability to independently evaluate and adapt standard methods and procedures. This role offers a dynamic environment where you can contribute to successful projects in the Pulp and Paper industry.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients' technical staff to develop acceptable processes and control features.
• Conduct field trips to existing plants to gather operating data and equipment information.
• Prepare equipment specifications.
• Communicate process design to clients and other design disciplines.
• Participate in process safety reviews.
• Prepare operators' instruction manuals.
• Participate in the preparation of contract proposals.

Qualifications and Experience

• Requires a minimum of 10-20 years’ experience in Process/Design Engineering or related functional areas.
• Significant experience as a lead process engineer on capital projects is required.
• Registration as a licensed professional engineer is highly preferred (or willingness to obtain registration).
• Specific design engineering experience with Material Handling, Recycled Fibers, Pulping & Bleaching, Papermaking, Power & Recovery, and WinGEMS process modeling is preferred.

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients, managers, designers, and engineers.
• Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
