Sr. Process Engineer, Photolithography

About the role

Tower Semiconductor is seeking a Process Engineer within the Photo department to support sustaining operations, process improvements, process transfers, and development activities in our high-volume manufacturing facility located in San Antonio, TX.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of assigned processes and establish direction for improvements, sustaining, and overall operations
• Work closely with process and integration engineers to improve process metrics (SPC, yield, parametrics, defects) and achieve first-pass success of technology transfers
• Own the selection and qualification of semiconductor processing tools
• Maintain and monitor fab metrics with statistical process control (SPC)
• Conduct root cause investigations of discrepant material and implement yield and defect improvement projects
• Write operating specifications and provide technical training to wafer fab personnel
• Collaborate with equipment engineering to improve uptime and tool utilization
• Diagnose and troubleshoot process and tool excursions
• Identify cost savings opportunities and drive projects to reduce overall costs
• Implement advanced process control to improve Cpk at critical levels
• Develop new semiconductor manufacturing processes using design of experiments (DOE)

Requirements

• Recent Ph.D. graduate, preferably in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or Materials Science
• MS Degree with minimum 5 years of hands-on semiconductor experience
• Desirable coursework includes semiconductor processing technology, device physics, and statistics
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Self-starter, dependable, and highly motivated
• Ability to work and communicate with equipment engineering to improve the area
• Strong problem-solving and data analysis skills
