Sr Principal Windows / VMWare Systems Administrator - Polygraph

Due to the classified nature of the work, this position requires on-site work at our Linthicum, MD location and does not offer virtual or telecommute options. U.S. citizenship and a current Top Secret/SCI clearance with a recent Polygraph (adjudicated within the last 5 years) are required to start.

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Senior Principal Computer Systems Analyst (Windows and VMWare Sys Admin) to support information system lifecycle activities for the CIDO. Responsibilities

• Perform as a Senior Computer Systems Analyst in support of classified government contracts.
• Communicate effectively at all organizational levels, with internal or external customers, in written and oral formats.
• Establish and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction while adhering to established policies.
• Report task statuses for recurring and non-recurring efforts in written and oral formats.
• Oversee and lead the reliable operations of multi-user computer systems, collaborating with system engineers, PC desktop technicians, networking engineers, project managers, end users, and IT/Cyber management.
• Analyze and recommend solutions to customer requirements, determining equipment and software needs.
• Recommend and implement system enhancements, including automation, to improve system performance (installing, upgrading/patching, monitoring, problem resolution, and configuration management).
• Ensure compliant and reliable backup and recovery services; manage file systems, disk space, and routine virus protection.
• Test and oversee new product releases to ensure compatibility and minimize user impact.
• Lead the development and documentation of technical processes and procedures.
• Interact with vendors to evaluate products, services, and suggestions, and troubleshoot issues.
• Adhere to strict Information Systems security guidelines and report security-relevant statuses.
• Ensure accurate security audit and logging information on all classified networked and standalone computers as directed by the Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM).
• Work across disciplines to isolate issues between software, firmware, hardware, operating systems, networks, and applications.
• Mentor junior professionals to develop technical talent.
• Lift equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Work after hours and weekends as needed.

Requirements

• PhD with 4 years of relevant IT experience; OR a Master’s Degree with 6 years of relevant IT experience; OR a Bachelor’s Degree with 8 years of relevant IT experience; OR an Associate’s Degree with 10 years of relevant IT experience; OR a High School Diploma/GED with 12 years of relevant IT experience.
• Experience designing and maintaining Windows domain architectures, including Active Directory, GPOs, policies, and permissions in a classified environment.
• Experience with VMWare implementation, migration, and maintenance.
• Must meet U.S. Government 8140 (8570 equivalent) baseline certification requirements for a Sr Principal Computer Systems Analyst - IAT Level II (e.g., Security+ CE).
• Current U.S. Government Top Secret/SCI security clearance with a recent Polygraph (adjudicated within the last 5 years).

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree, Security+ CE certification, and 7 years of Windows server administration experience, including VMWare, Linux, and RedHat Administration in a classified environment.
• Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, LDAP, and related services.
• Experience operating under and managing systems within NISPOM Chapter 8, DCID 6/3-ICD 503, RMF, STIG, JAFAN, or JSIG information system environments.
• Networking experience, including subnets, routing, VLANs, VTCs, and Cisco systems/certifications.
• Experience creating, maintaining, and deploying system images in an enterprise environment.
• Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining computer hardware in a networked environment.
• Experience working in virtualized environments.
• Experience deploying and maintaining backup solutions (e.g., Cohesity, Veritas) and SAN storage systems.
• Experience with environmental monitoring tools (e.g., HBSS, Solar Winds, Splunk).
• Scripting and automation experience.
• Cross-platform awareness (e.g., Windows, Linux, Solaris, OSX, UNIX).
• Experience with Assessment & Authorization processes.

Pay

Primary salary range: $123,400.00 - $185,000.00. The final offer considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.
