About the role

Your impact: Support national defense by ensuring critical operations are secure and connected across the global enterprise.

Responsibilities

  • Administer, operate, and maintain Windows server and endpoint systems across physical, virtual, and cloud environments, ensuring stability, performance, and secure configurations.
  • Perform Tier II/III troubleshooting and root cause analysis for OS level, authentication, GPO, networking, and dependency related issues supporting enterprise services.
  • Manage configuration baselines, apply required updates, support lifecycle planning, and maintain accurate documentation for change, configuration, and operational processes.
  • Sustain Active Directory, Group Policy, certificate services, server roles, and related identity, access, and configuration services across multiple network domains.
  • Maintain, monitor, and update Windows systems for compliance with security baselines, STIG settings, and enterprise hardening requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineering, cybersecurity, monitoring, and platform teams to ensure secure integrations, dependency mapping, and seamless operations.
  • Maintain server virtualization environments, including building, updating, and troubleshooting virtual machines, templates, hypervisors, and supporting infrastructure.
  • Support operational tasks such as firmware updates, system provisioning, backup/restore activities, template updates, and service availability monitoring.
  • Execute Windows OS and security patching across assigned systems, deploying enterprise approved updates, baseline releases, and third-party patches to maintain security and configuration compliance.
  • Identify and remediate noncompliant systems by reviewing vulnerability and SCAP reports, diagnosing root causes, coordinating corrective actions, and validating remediation across multiple networks.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field, or 10+ years of relevant IT experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Certification: Meet DoD 8140 Information Assurance Workforce certification requirements (e.g. Security+ CE, etc.).
  • Clearance: Active TS/SCI clearance with a favorable polygraph.
  • Experience: Hands-on experience administering Windows Server and Windows client OS in enterprise or multinetwork environments.
  • Skills: Proficiency with Active Directory, GPO creation/troubleshooting, OS deployment tooling, and PowerShell automation.
  • Experience: Implementing secure configurations, STIG/HBSS compliance, and OS hardening practices.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with enterprise patch management, vulnerability remediation, and configuration compliance auditing.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to diagnose and resolve complex OS, authentication, and configuration issues across distributed infrastructure.
  • Soft Skills: Strong documentation, communication, and collaboration skills.
