Sr Principal Software Engineer
About the role
We are looking for talented Senior Principal Level Software engineers to help create the world’s most advanced solutions in Signals Intelligence (SIGINT), Aircraft Protection, Radar Warning, and Electronic Attack for defense-related customers. Our products provide critical mission capabilities to address evolving challenges and threats to national security and warfighters. You will collaborate with Systems, Hardware, and Test engineers across project planning, requirements development, design, development, integration, and testing. The role offers leadership opportunities and the chance to work with current and emerging technologies in a mission-driven environment.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a technical lead on programs, mentoring team members and presenting technical designs at customer interchange meetings.
- Analyze, design, code, and modify complex software (primarily in C++) for simple systems or subsystems of larger systems.
- Evaluate complex software designs to identify flaws and ensure robust solutions.
- Maintain communication with management to report progress and results.
- Leverage and evolve processes to incorporate effective new techniques, minimizing design and product costs.
- Provide top-level technical leadership, including selecting and exploiting promising new technologies and defining long-term goals.
- Ensure effective collaboration among engineers and all participants in the design process.
- Perform software testing, validation, and verification activities.
Requirements
- Active Secret Security Clearance (within the past two years).
- Proficiency in C++ and extensive background in embedded and/or software development.
- Strong foundation in Object-Oriented design and implementation principles.
- Experience with software and systems engineering processes, methodologies, and tools.
- Familiarity with containers and DevSecOps practices.
- Demonstrated ability to develop, lead, and motivate technical teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with software automated test development and execution.
- Background in software algorithm development.
- Experience developing and deploying software in a DevSecOps pipeline.
- Previous technical or project team leadership experience.
- Master’s Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
Pay
Full-Time Salary Range: $132,962 – $226,035. Individual salaries are determined by factors including business considerations, local market conditions, internal equity, and candidate qualifications such as skills, education, and experience.
