Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for all aspects of conceptual rocket motor design, flight performance and system-level design and analysis, including
- Develop new concepts for use in marketing, proposal, and programmatic efforts that help shape the future of our business
- Present technical solutions and information to engineering organizations, internal and external customers, and to company leadership
- Design and optimize conceptual propulsion elements and vehicles
- Perform trajectory analysis of launch vehicles, missiles, and sounding rockets
- Solve a variety of challenging, often open-ended, aerospace engineering problems
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (STEM) with 8 years of professional experience – OR – Master’s degree with 6 years of professional experience – OR – PhD with 4 years of professional experience
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance
- Working knowledge of solid rocket motor design and performance
- Working knowledge of launch vehicles and their designs
- Proficiency in programming languages: Python, Matlab, C++, or other
- Demonstrated experience conducting system-level trade and sensitivity studies
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to clearly present technical information
- Prioritized ability to be flexible in work assignments, which may vary frequently from tasks including analysis, design, project engineering, systems engineering, etc.
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- General computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
