This role is responsible for Power interconnection solution product (Busbar/Connector/Cable Assembly) development, used for data communication or Hyperscale computers. You will provide customer innovation solutions and manage engineering documents following TE system procedures. You will coach and mentor team members on optimal designs for simulation, including tool and results interpretation, as well as customer interactions relative to design, performance, and optimization.

Responsibilities

  • Support customer/team on power integrity modeling and performance simulation.
  • Provide professional advice on the design of product/system to optimize performance.
  • Lead and manage the complete product development life cycle, from voice of customer (VOC) and ideation to product end of life, including:
    • Design conceptualization
    • Creation of product specifications
    • 3D design and prototyping
    • Product testing and qualification
    • Project execution and sustenance
  • Build a deep understanding of market and customer needs by fostering collaboration between business engineering teams and customer engineering teams.
  • Work closely with customer/sales/PM to gather clear VOC, make engineering evaluations, and propose solutions.
  • Maintain a system-level understanding of customer applications and Busbar design to meet customer expectations.
  • Follow the LEANPD Project Process to support project completion on time, within quality standards, and on budget.
  • Drive product developments and releases through stage-gate reviews, ensuring milestone commitments are met.
  • Provide technical support to customers, sales, PM, and plant/PBL teams, including testing, engineering analysis, troubleshooting, and verification.
  • Collaborate with global manufacturing resources, procurement, and suppliers to meet TE’s technical, quality, and cost objectives.
  • Introduce breakthrough technologies by partnering with customers worldwide and TE Global competency centers to enhance business revenue and growth.
  • Apply engineering best practices to reduce costs and sustain existing products to meet customer cost targets.
  • Bridge between the NPD team and plant team for smooth new product launches.
  • Lead engineering change qualification with cross-functional teams and maintain up-to-date engineering documents.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in new product development-related positions.
  • 5+ years of experience in product development of connector, cable, or busbar assembly.
  • Experience working closely with test teams and capable of reviewing test reports and performing root cause analysis for performance failures.
  • Ability to work independently in a highly technical role.
  • Experience in product compliance certification (Product, Safety, Environmental substance control).
  • Experience in Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA), Design for Cost (DFC), and Design for Manufacturing (DFM).
  • Experience working with a global team is a plus.

Pay

Competitive base salary range: $187,100 – $280,600 (subject to change dependent on physical location). Total compensation includes base salary, incentives, and benefits.
