About the role

The Sr Principal Engineering Liaison – NCR Liaison Officer (26-330) plays a crucial role in supporting the U.S. President, the Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels. This position is essential to the Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program, which is a key component of the Missile Defense System.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates and shares Event Objective Worksheets (EOWs) created by MDA and the National Team (NT).
  • Interfaces with MDA and C2BMC Command Center (CCC or “Cube”) personnel to gather status updates.
  • Identifies and helps resolve operational issues.
  • Develops solutions to complex technical problems that require ingenuity and innovation.
  • Prepares operational plans, schedules, costs, internal office communications, and briefing materials.
  • Represents the C2BMC National Team within the User community.

Requirements

  • Current, active in-scope DoD-issued Top Secret security clearance at the time of application.
  • 8 years of experience in a joint or service command headquarters staff.
  • Experience with Command and Control Systems in an operational arena.
  • Experience with the Integrated Tactical Warning and Attack Assessment (ITWAA) systems.
  • Excellent written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Experience briefing at the general officer/flag officer level.
  • Self-starting problem solver with the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field from an accredited university, or a Master’s degree in a related field with 6 years of relevant work experience.
  • Willingness to travel 10% of the time for business needs.
  • Knowledge of the Joint Staff environment, processes, and personnel.

Skills

  • Experience with Missile Defense and Command and Control systems.

  • Ability to work in a joint or service command headquarters staff environment.
