About the role

The Sr Principal Engineer Test will be responsible for creating Master Test Plans (MTPs), Hardware Utilization Matrixes (HUMs), Detailed Test Plans (DTPs), and Test Procedures, and Engineering Test Reports (ETRs) in a DoD environment. They will also administer system test activities for programs and projects as part of Integrated Product Teams (IPTs).

Responsibilities

  • Create and manage Master Test Plans (MTPs), Hardware Utilization Matrixes (HUMs), Detailed Test Plans (DTPs), and Test Procedures.
  • Generate Engineering Test Reports (ETRs) based on the test plans and procedures.
  • Administer system test activities for programs and projects as part of Integrated Product Teams (IPTs).
  • Lead proposal and bidding activities for potentially new programs and projects related to system test activities and tasks.
  • Interface and coordinate with program managers, chief engineers, design engineers, quality engineers, DCMA, and external customers.

Requirements

  • 8 years of experience with a bachelor’s degree, 6 years with a master’s degree, or 4 years with a PhD in a relevant field.
  • Experience with Department of Defense (DoD) programs and projects, focusing on product verification and validation according to program requirements.
  • Understanding and application of military specifications and standards relevant to advanced technology weapons, medium and large caliber ammunition, and precision guidance weapons.
  • Experience with environmental testing methods and processes, including ballistics, tracer, self-destruct, round performance, temperature storage and live fire, transportation vibration, drop shock, thermal, jolt/jumble, salt fog, waterproofing, and Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) Testing.
  • Ability to assemble test plans and test reports for customer deliverables, capturing required test data per the test plan/procedure.
  • Travel up to 50% of the time to support off-site testing activities.

Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship and a DOD security clearance at the Secret level or higher.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently and organize/prioritize job assignments and tasks.
