About the role

This position is based in Aurora, Colorado. The selected candidate will bring a strong background in computer hardware design and integration, focusing on understanding how changes in requirements impact hardware designs. The role involves working on systems utilizing diverse electrical signals including power, RF, and fiber optics. Key responsibilities include creating/reviewing/updating drawings, supporting equipment moves, rack and stacking of equipment, and integrating computer equipment into shelters for deployment. The candidate will also participate in system-level testing and verification processes, troubleshoot and modify existing hardware designs to enhance performance and reliability, and document design alterations, prepare status reports, and develop design specifications and validation plans.

Responsibilities

  • Create/Review/Update drawings, support equipment moves, rack and stack of equipment and integration of computer equipment into a shelter for deployment.
  • Participate in system-level testing and verification processes, ensuring hardware meets all specified requirements and standards.
  • Conduct troubleshooting and modifications on existing hardware designs to enhance performance and reliability.
  • Utilize clear technical writing to document design alterations, prepare status reports, and develop design specifications and validation plans.
  • Maintain a proactive attitude in meetings with cross-functional teams, demonstrating initiative and professionalism while engaging with colleagues and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Experience with hardware design and integration processes.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the impacts of requirement changes on hardware design.
  • Familiarity with power, RF, and fiber electrical signal principles and applications.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with 8+ years of relevant experience, Master’s degree in a STEM field with 6+ years of relevant experience, OR PhD in a STEM field with 4+ years of relevant experience required.
  • Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with the ability to obtain and maintain SCI approval/access.

Skills

  • Applied electrical, electronic and mechanical principles to components and systems, including assembly, analysis, and documentation of results; construction of developmental assemblies, sub-assemblies and components; and quality testing.
  • Supports and participates in the design, test, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electromechanical systems.
  • Previous experience in a fast-paced engineering environment with a focus on field support operations is desirable.
  • Knowledge of electronic components and their applications in communication systems.
  • Experience with agile programs.

Pay

The primary level salary range for this position is $142,200.00 - $213,400.00. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.

Schedule

The position may require occasional travel to support field activities and hardware deployment.
