Sr. Principal Communications Electronics Engineer
About the role
The successful candidate will contribute to the overall development of communications subsystems, including analyzing network architectures and topologies for distributed communication applications, conducting trade studies for radio and ICS subsystem architectures, interacting with Comms suppliers for integration of Radio and ICS systems into the lab, supporting development and integration of communications subsystems and components to meet platform mission objectives, performing risk analysis and developing mitigation plans and tracking to closure, developing and maintaining supplier documentation, performance-based specifications, statements of work and Interface Control Documents, reviewing documents from the supplier’s development effort and supporting supplier technical interchange meetings and design reviews, and supporting technical discussions with the customer.
Responsibilities
- Analyze network architectures and topologies for distributed communication applications
- Conduct trade studies for radio and ICS subsystem architectures
- Interaction with Comms suppliers for integration of Radio and ICS systems into the lab
- Support development and integration of communications subsystems and components to meet platform mission objectives
- Performing risk analysis and developing mitigation plans and tracking to closure
- Developing and maintaining supplier documentation, performance-based specifications, statements of work and Interface Control Documents
- Reviewing documents from the supplier’s development effort and supporting supplier technical interchange meetings and design reviews
- Supporting technical discussions with the customer
Requirements
- Basic Qualifications: Sr. Principal: Bachelor’s degree in a (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 8 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering, or Master's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 6 years of related professional/military experience.
- Experience in one or more of the following: Demonstrated problem-solving ability and data analysis experience, Demonstrated ability to assimilate new concepts quickly and independently and work in a self-directed manner, Must have an active US Government Secret Clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation) and any program access required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company, Ability to obtain and maintain US Government Top Secret clearance
Qualifications
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in supplier/subcontract management, Experience with developing supplier documentation, performance-based specifications, and statements of work, Experience building supplier evaluation criteria and experience in conducting technical evaluations, documenting results and selection, Ability to review documents from the supplier’s development effort and support supplier technical interchange meetings and design review

Pay
Primary Level Salary Range: $122,800.00 - $184,200.00
