About the role
The Antenna and Microwave Department at Raytheon is responsible for designing phased array antenna systems, including active and passive microwave components, radiators, radomes, and a variety of RF subassemblies. This position involves designing RF microwave components and phased array applications, integrating and testing component and system-level phased array hardware, and leading technical activities.
Responsibilities
- Design of RF microwave components and phased array applications
- Integration and test of component level and system level phased array hardware
- Lead roles dependent on experience and career goals. Leads are responsible for cost and schedule for a program and interface with other IPTs and functions to coordinate program activities.
- Other leads are responsible for technical direction and coordinating stakeholders in technical decisions.
- Some travel to integration sites, plus customer and subcontractor facilities, may be required.
Requirements
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of ten years of prior relevant experience to include any combination of the following:
- Microwave/RF system, subsystem and component analysis, design and test
- Experience with electromagnetic simulation tools such as HFSS, ADS, CST, Mentor Graphics’ Xpedition and analytical tools such as Matlab
- Background designing and testing analog CCAs, including frequency conversion, automatic gain control, amplifier design and analog filter design
- Understanding of allocating and flowing down requirements from the system to the component level
- Knowledge of cost estimating, plus budget and schedule management
- Strong academic background that includes courses in: Microwave Engineering, Microwave Systems, Electromagnetic Theory and Radar Systems
- Strong hands on experience with microwave testing techniques, including using spectrum analyzers, Real-time Spectrum Analyzers (RSAs), Vector Network Analyzers (VNAs) and Performance Network Analyzer (PNAs)
