Sr. Practice Accountant (Reporting)

Responsibilities

  • Support month-end close activities, including preparation of journal entries and reconciliations within the assigned functional areas (e.g., revenue, assets, opex, liabilities, etc.).
  • Review staff accountants’ work for accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Ensure accounting records and supporting documentation comply with US GAAP and internal controls.
  • Serve as a mentor and resource to staff accountants by providing training, feedback, and guidance.
  • Partner with Practice Accounting Operation to analyze results and support variance explanations.
  • Support integration of new physicians, tuck-ins, and service lines, including establishing opening balance sheets, converting practices from cash to accrual basis, and ensuring alignment with OneOncology accounting policies.
  • Support process improvements and automation initiatives to improve efficiency.
  • Add additional responsibilities as assigned to help drive our mission of improving the lives of everyone living with cancer.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required (Master’s degree preferred).
  • 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in healthcare.
  • Strong knowledge of internal controls and accounting best practices.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel; ERP system experience (Workday preferred).
  • Active CPA license strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience mentoring or reviewing work of junior staff a plus.
