Sr. Practice Accountant (Reporting)

Responsibilities
- Support month-end close activities, including preparation of journal entries and reconciliations within the assigned functional areas (e.g., revenue, assets, opex, liabilities, etc.).
- Review staff accountants’ work for accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with accounting standards.
- Ensure accounting records and supporting documentation comply with US GAAP and internal controls.
- Serve as a mentor and resource to staff accountants by providing training, feedback, and guidance.
- Partner with Practice Accounting Operation to analyze results and support variance explanations.
- Support integration of new physicians, tuck-ins, and service lines, including establishing opening balance sheets, converting practices from cash to accrual basis, and ensuring alignment with OneOncology accounting policies.
- Support process improvements and automation initiatives to improve efficiency.
- Add additional responsibilities as assigned to help drive our mission of improving the lives of everyone living with cancer.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required (Master’s degree preferred).
- 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in healthcare.
- Strong knowledge of internal controls and accounting best practices.
- Strong proficiency in Excel; ERP system experience (Workday preferred).
- Active CPA license strongly preferred.
- Prior experience mentoring or reviewing work of junior staff a plus.
