Sr. Portfolio Manager
About the role
The Sr Portfolio Manager contributes to T-Mobile’s success by maintaining the department portfolio and overarching roadmap, encompassing all projects and programs. This position leads portfolio intake and prioritization processes and builds relationships with key business partners across the enterprise. Responsibilities include mentoring colleagues, aligning prioritization with enterprise and departmental initiatives, reconciling budgets with Finance and Accounting, and tracking operational metrics to drive efficiencies.
Responsibilities
- Maintains and updates the department portfolio and roadmap in partnership with project, program, and product teams.
- Drives cross-functional awareness of roadmap constraints and dependencies; maintains launch calendar for visibility.
- Provides monthly senior-level executive portfolio status updates.
- Operationalizes and mentors colleagues and leadership on portfolio intake and prioritization processes; ensures alignment with enterprise strategic objectives.
- Identifies cross-project and program dependencies; develops risk mitigation recommendations; assesses risks and critical issues to launch.
- Manages portfolio budget with Finance, forecasts spend at project/program level, oversees actual spend and burn rate, and compiles monthly reports for senior leadership.
- Facilitates accounting treatment processes for initiatives and ensures appropriate financial coding.
- Contributes to corporate governance through process establishment, continuous improvement, and documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree plus 3 years of related work experience OR advanced degree with 1 year of related work experience OR equivalent combination.
- Acceptable areas of study include Business Administration, Project Management, Program Management or related field.
Qualifications
- 4–7 years of experience leading, assessing, or working across the project life cycle.
- 4–7 years of experience with SDLC and industry-leading knowledge of portfolio management.
- Less than 2 years of experience leading virtual or other teams.
- Experience with SharePoint.

Pay
National Base Pay Range: $96,000 – $173,200
Total Target Cash Earnings Opportunity: $110,400 – $199,180 (base salary plus annual incentive at target performance; actual pay varies by location, qualifications, and experience).
