Job Summary

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for coordinating activities for Substation and/or Transmission projects located in Maine, New York and Connecticut, and will manage resource requirements, priorities, investment plans, project execution strategy and internal/ external resource requirements. Projects may originate due to reliability, asset health, system capacity customer or other project need.

Responsibilities

  • Meet corporate goals for capital investment
  • Manage Construction Work in Progress
  • Energize projects
  • Maximize the effectiveness of capital budget delivery considering the environment, operating efficiency, regulatory, CWIP and operational needs
  • Represent the company in regulatory and public forums
  • Coordinate activities of project team members including engineers, construction managers, and external contractors
  • Facilitate the work of external contractors and other internal business areas
  • Hold contractors accountable for performance
  • Hold project team members accountable for results
  • Provide technical and business advice to senior management when required
  • Ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget and in conformance to quality and engineering standards

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 12 years relevant experience in energy industry required
  • More than 20 years’ relevant experience in energy industry required
  • Experienced in contract negotiations and supplier management
  • Proven experience obtaining siting permits

Skills / Abilities

  • Ability to mobilize and motivate team members to deliver projects on time and under budget
  • Expert in integrating Scheduling IT tools and software: MS Project and/or Primavera with costs and resource requirements
  • Expert in risk management and mitigation plans
  • Expert in utilizing MS Excel for data analysis, budgeting and planning
  • Ability to use and query SAP
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Public presentation skills and ability to summarize concepts presented accordingly
  • Results oriented
  • Understanding of quality assurance processes (QMS, EMS, ISO 9000, ISO 14000)
  • Knowledge of main configuration and general arrangements of networks (substations, overhead lines and underground cable) infrastructures
  • Supervision of contractors
  • Proven ability to lead teams and work in a team environment
  • Team oriented

Pay

The salary range for this position is dependent upon experience, ranging from $116,640 to $145,800.
