Job Summary
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for coordinating activities for Substation and/or Transmission projects located in Maine, New York and Connecticut, and will manage resource requirements, priorities, investment plans, project execution strategy and internal/ external resource requirements. Projects may originate due to reliability, asset health, system capacity customer or other project need.
Responsibilities
- Meet corporate goals for capital investment
- Manage Construction Work in Progress
- Energize projects
- Maximize the effectiveness of capital budget delivery considering the environment, operating efficiency, regulatory, CWIP and operational needs
- Represent the company in regulatory and public forums
- Coordinate activities of project team members including engineers, construction managers, and external contractors
- Facilitate the work of external contractors and other internal business areas
- Hold contractors accountable for performance
- Hold project team members accountable for results
- Provide technical and business advice to senior management when required
- Ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget and in conformance to quality and engineering standards
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 12 years relevant experience in energy industry required
- More than 20 years’ relevant experience in energy industry required
- Experienced in contract negotiations and supplier management
- Proven experience obtaining siting permits
Skills / Abilities
- Ability to mobilize and motivate team members to deliver projects on time and under budget
- Expert in integrating Scheduling IT tools and software: MS Project and/or Primavera with costs and resource requirements
- Expert in risk management and mitigation plans
- Expert in utilizing MS Excel for data analysis, budgeting and planning
- Ability to use and query SAP
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Public presentation skills and ability to summarize concepts presented accordingly
- Results oriented
- Understanding of quality assurance processes (QMS, EMS, ISO 9000, ISO 14000)
- Knowledge of main configuration and general arrangements of networks (substations, overhead lines and underground cable) infrastructures
- Supervision of contractors
- Proven ability to lead teams and work in a team environment
- Team oriented
Pay
The salary range for this position is dependent upon experience, ranging from $116,640 to $145,800.
