This position is located in Springfield, MO and is not open to remote work.

Responsibilities

  • Design and select business-critical storage, data center, and client/server environments to align with industry best practices and provide third-line escalation for global infrastructure solutions.
  • Drive advances in technologies and architectures to increase the value delivered by technology and digital capabilities, improving efficiency or reducing total cost of operations.
  • Recommend and participate in the design, development, and maintenance of IT capabilities within the enterprise architecture.
  • Partner with Enterprise Architecture to develop and maintain enterprise architecture artifacts.
  • Collect business requirements using interviews, document analysis, workshops, and workflow analysis to express needs in terms of target user roles and goals.
  • Document "as is" and "to be" processes and describe changes required to migrate to the "to be" capability.
  • Explore and develop a detailed understanding of external developments or emerging issues and evaluate their potential impact or usefulness to the organization.
  • Conduct feasibility studies from technological and organizational perspectives and document findings to complete cost-benefit analyses.
  • Implement required security measures, such as firewalls, message encryption, system hardening, or vulnerability remediation, and monitor performance to notify security experts of issues.
  • Maintain and renew deep knowledge of organizational policies, procedures, and relevant regulatory codes to ensure compliance.
  • Lead technical developments to improve the quality of the infrastructure platform to better meet users’ needs.
  • Develop personal capabilities through assessment, planning, training, and coaching; maintain external professional accreditation where relevant.
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education and conferences.
  • Contribute to developing business cases to quantify current costs, justify project investment, and identify return on investment.
  • Develop and implement designs providing fault isolation and resolution for complex challenges to limit and address issues promptly.
  • Design and perform system and component tests and respond to user emails to monitor, diagnose, and correct performance issues.
  • Use the organization's formal development framework to identify individual and team development needs, plan actions, and provide training or coaching.
  • Contribute to the continued improvement of Infrastructure Automation tooling and processes.
  • Participate in after-hours support, including applicable on-call responsibilities.
  • Contribute to Knowledge Base articles and Standard Operating Procedures, ensuring routine tasks and problems are well documented.
  • Participate in the onboarding and training of new team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent level of experience.
  • 3 to 6 years of experience enabling the job holder to deal with the majority of situations and advise others.
  • 1 to 3 years of managerial experience supervising and directing people and resources.

Skills

  • Determine and analyze trends from data to assist in compiling reports for decision-making.
  • Understand business context, needs, rules, architecture, organizational structure, cultures, capabilities, and processes.
  • Express user needs in terms of business requirements, identify current capability, conduct build or buy analyses, and recommend preferred approaches.
  • Develop effective change strategies based on gap analyses and enterprise readiness assessment results.
  • Conduct gap analysis between current and future states to identify components of the overall change strategy.
  • Design, execute, and report on systems/service tests to ensure application functionality as specified.
  • Interpret, contribute to, or lead business case creation to quantify costs, justify investment, and identify return on investment.
  • Create and review reports for various audiences in a lucid and effective manner.
  • Review and evaluate recommendations and requirements to develop appropriate plans or deliver actions.
  • Develop and execute architectures, policies, and practices to manage the information lifecycle needs of an organization.
  • Conduct technology-specific assessments to determine the organization's readiness for change.
  • Adopt solutions to automate and manage multiple applications and functions within an organization.
  • Manage and administer infrastructure components such as compute, storage, cloud, network, observability, and tooling/automation.
  • Proficiently navigate and manage private and public cloud-based infrastructure, including virtual machines, networks, storage, and services.
  • Experience with Infrastructure Automation technologies, such as Ansible, Puppet, or Terraform.
  • Scripting and/or programming experience with languages such as Bash, PowerShell, or Python.
  • Ability to delegate, provide clear communication, and define success criteria or "definition of done."

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with CI/CD tooling.
  • Experience managing containerized infrastructure, such as Kubernetes, Docker, and Cloud Run.
  • Experience designing and deploying cloud platforms.
