About the role
Administers and supports the PeopleSoft application stack, including WebLogic, SSL certificates, Application Designer, and Oracle database. Participates in a team environment for the installation of upgrades, testing, and maintenance of new and existing systems and/or software applications.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor team members in PeopleSoft system administration, ensuring maximum availability and reliability of supported platforms.
- Facilitate cross-functional understanding and communication between technical areas, including network (load balancers, firewalls), DBA team, server (Unix, Linux, MS Server, VMware), and desktop (Windows).
- Maintain and support multiple PeopleSoft environments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex application/system issues.
- Apply patches, bundles, product patches, tax updates, and maintenance packs.
- Apply quarterly Oracle Java, WebLogic, and Tuxedo patching (maintain SQL setup for any changes in Java, WebLogic, and Tuxedo).
- Configure and troubleshoot Integration Broker.
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot app servers, process schedulers (batch server), and web servers across platforms.
- Initiate and configure clustering, load balancing, and failover for the PeopleSoft servers.
- Facilitate PeopleSoft environment refreshes, including file servers and recreation of App/Web/Process Scheduler domains.
- Install PeopleSoft Client Workstations.
- Perform log/disk space management activities for PeopleSoft servers.
- Perform migration of projects between various environments (dev, test, production) and maintain change control.
- Maintain web profiles, integration nodes, and interfaces.
- Install and configure additional PeopleSoft tools, such as Change Assistant (CA), Performance Monitor, Change Impact Analyzer (CIA), etc.
- Create and maintain relevant system documentation.
- Adapt to new technology and methodologies, staying current with updates and industry trends.
- Research and apply fixes on security vulnerability issues.
- Coordinate and communicate the impacts of client-wide initiatives on the PeopleSoft system.
- Provide on-call support and respond to system, processes (approx. 150), and batch issues.
- Coordinate with the scheduling team for setting up, changing, and turning off batch jobs in production batch servers, such as Control-M.
- Install new PUM images (maintain SQL setup for any changes).
- Develop and customize PeopleSoft applications using PeopleTools, Application Designer, PeopleCode, Application Engine, Component Interface, SQR, BI Publisher, and related tools.
- Build and maintain integrations between PeopleSoft and internal/external systems using Integration Broker, web services, APIs, file transfers, and messaging.
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical designs, customizations, enhancements, reports, interfaces, and workflows.
- Troubleshoot application issues by reviewing PeopleCode, SQL, logs, process scheduler output, integration messages, and system errors.
- Support upgrades, patches, PUM images, and tax updates by analyzing retrofit impacts, updating customizations, testing changes, and resolving defects.
- Perform unit testing and support system/integration testing to validate new development, enhancements, fixes, and configuration changes.
- Document technical designs, development changes, support procedures, and troubleshooting steps for ongoing maintainability.
- Ensure compliance with security, audit, and data protection requirements, especially when working with sensitive HR, financial, PHI, or PII data.
Requirements
- Experience supporting PeopleSoft 9.2, PeopleTools, PUM images, application servers, process schedulers, web servers, and environment management, including configuration and integrations.
- Ability to develop, customize, and troubleshoot using PeopleCode, Application Designer, Application Engine, Component Interface, SQR, BI Publisher, PS Query, SQL, and Integration Broker.
- Solid understanding of supporting technologies such as Oracle Database, WebLogic, Tuxedo, Java, Linux, Windows Server, SSL certificates, load balancing, clustering, and failover.
- System performance analysis and resolution skills, including troubleshooting and optimizing system performance.
- Leadership and direction skills, with ability to provide guidance and oversight to team members.

- Adaptability to changing technologies and methodologies, including cloud-based solutions and DevOps practices.
- Ability to automate administrative tasks, environment refreshes, deployments, monitoring, or reporting using tools such as PowerShell, shell scripting, SQL scripts, Git, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or similar tools.
Schedule
Remote / PST work hours. Tentative contract duration: 12 months.
