Responsibilities
- Develop the project scope and fee quotation and assist in the preparation of technical proposals and contracts in accordance with HNTB's Sophisticated Contracting Approach (SCA).
- Serve as the primary client liaison and manage the project team to deliver the scope, schedule, and budgets to completion and to the client’s satisfaction.
- Lead client contract scoping and negotiations.
- Lead and prepare design documents, technical plans, and written reports on projects.
- Implement the firm’s project delivery plan using HNTB's Sophisticated Delivery Approach (SDA) on each project.
- Lead the development and execution of the project management plan.
- Supervise and mentor team to overall project objectives.
- Oversee project staffing, including recruitment, hiring, development, retention, and succession of project staff; develop plans for project staff reporting; and support performance and compensation reviews.
- Partner with Client Service Leaders and pursuit champions to assist with business development, building client relationships, and pursuit efforts for mega and super mega projects in accordance with HNTB's Sophisticated Sales Approach (SSA).
- Work with the project team and marketing resources to prepare appropriate proposal and presentation materials.
- Lead proposal development and interview presentations for mini-mega, mega, or super mega projects to the client as well as general presentations within the industry and community.
- May be responsible for the recruitment, hiring, development, and retention of staff, including development of plans for staff reporting, performance and compensation reviews, and succession.
- Typically manage project team(s) for one or more mini-mega ($1M to <$5M) projects or mega ($5M to <$25M) projects, or lead or serve in a key discipline role on a super mega (>$25M) project management team.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Planning, Landscape Architecture, Urban Design, Engineering, Geology, Biology, Environmental Science, Anthropology, Archaeology, or related field.
- 12 years of relevant experience.
- 4 years of successful management of projects.
Skills
- Supervising and leading planning and PD&E (Planning, Design, and Environment) staff with FDOT District 4 and District 6 PD&E projects.
- Winning PD&E and related planning work.
- Coordinating PD&E activities with other disciplines.
