About the role

This is an operations role within our growing Human Resources organization, offering an excellent opportunity to gain experience within a global company and explore further career growth.

This is a hybrid position located in Hartsville, SC or Charlotte, NC.

Responsibilities

  • Perform timely and accurate reconciliation of US and Canadian payroll taxes and remittance of Canadian taxes, including workers’ compensation, across multi-company, multi-state, and multiple pay cycles.
  • Manage payroll tax filings and ADP representative requirements using ADP SmartCompliance.
  • Drive improvement projects to optimize Workday processes, focusing on eliminating manual operations.
  • Participate in tax equalization calculations for expats/inpats and oversee stock compensation tax reconciliation and compliance.
  • Lead year-end processing to ensure timely and accurate issuance of tax forms for both US and Canadian operations.
  • Collaborate with the Payroll Operations Team to ensure accurate tax withholding for employees.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) and assist in executing large strategic projects impacting payroll, including M&A activity, process improvement, and process rationalization.
  • Provide signoff on reconciliations, oversee payroll tax audits, and respond to team member questions while offering training.
  • Assist in root cause investigations and implement corrective/preventive actions for repeat and impactful payroll errors affecting payroll tax.
  • Ensure internal processes and data accuracy comply with SOX.
  • Oversee the distribution of confidential information to PWC, auditors, corporate, and other stakeholders as needed.
  • Research federal and state rules and regulations for the U.S. and Canada.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree – preferred majors include business administration, accounting, finance, and human resources.
  • 5-7 years of payroll tax experience.
  • Strong analytical and people skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (particularly Excel, Teams, and Outlook).
  • Ability to effectively organize and structure activities.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Workday payroll experience.
  • Experience with Workday report creation.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced public company environment.
  • ADP experience (preferably ADP SmartCompliance).
  • Canadian tax experience.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification.

Pay

The annual base salary range for this role is from $85,760 to $96,480.
