Sr Payroll Reconciliation Analyst
Job Summary
This Sr Payroll Reconciliation Analyst ensures the accuracy and integrity of the organization's financial records by validating payroll data against source documents. They identify and resolve discrepancies and ensure compliance with tax laws and labor regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Systematically compare payroll outputs (earnings, taxes, benefits, deductions) against HR inputs and time-and-attendance records before finalizing transmission.
- Reconcile payroll liability accounts, tax deposits, garnishments, and benefits against general ledger entries.
- Establish and enforce strict payroll policies, procedures, and internal controls (such as SOX compliance) to prevent errors and fraudulent activities.
- Partner with HR and accounting to ensure payroll data flows seamlessly and aligns with overall business objectives.
- Manage and configure payroll and timekeeping software (e.g., UKG) to align pay cycles and deduction structures.
- Support internal and external audits.
- Remain current on existing and new payroll guidelines, processes, or any legislation impacting payroll.
Work Environment
The work environment is an office setting with varying degrees of temperature and noise levels. The vast amount of work is conducted in a climate-controlled office. Travel may be required.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job the Team Member is regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The Team Member is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The Team Member must occasionally lift and/or more up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
- 5+ years of payroll experience, including multi-state payroll processing.
- 2+ years of accounting experience or strong accounting knowledge.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred.
- Experience with payroll systems (UKG, SAP).
- Strong understanding of payroll tax regulations and compliance requirements.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to reconcile and interpret financial data.
- Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration.
Additional Information
The salary range for this role is $80,000- $100,000 (Annually). Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, and candidate skill set and experience.
