Sr Patient Services Representative, OBGYN, Fulltime, First Shift

Responsibilities

• Greets and registers patients for diagnostic procedures.
• Answers telephone and directs calls to appropriate areas.
• Trains co-workers on an as needed basis.
• Verifies complete and accurate patient information in registration.
• Enters physicians' orders into Last Word or other systems, prepares daily schedules as appropriate.
• Schedules department procedures in systems used and relays exam preparation instructions as appropriate.
• Aids the physician in documenting notes and in doing orders and prescriptions by setting them up in the Electronic Medical Record.
• Completes patient tracking and record keeping in accordance with established protocols.
• Maintains appropriate records as needed.
• Participates in quality assurance and documentation activities through verifying and maintaining complete and accurate demographic data.
• Participates in corporate compliance activities in accordance with established institutional, state, and regulatory requirements.
• Acts as the practice advocate for patients, physicians, visitors, and employees regarding front desk information, patient flow.
• Collaborates with Practice Manager to develop ongoing training for the Patient Service Representatives.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience: One to two years experience in Healthcare customer service.
