Sr Patient Care Technician

About the role

The Senior Patient Care Technician works under the direction of a Registered Nurse. This role involves performing direct patient care tasks such as bathing, assisting with elimination, bed making, and vital signs monitoring. The technician also transports patients and patient-related materials safely and efficiently, greets and orients patients to the care area, provides meal service and feeding assistance, and performs additional select care duties.

Responsibilities

• Performs direct patient care tasks including bathing, assisting with elimination, bed making, and vital signs monitoring.
• Transports patients and patient-related materials in a safe, timely, and professional manner.
• Greets and orients patients to the patient care area.
• Provides meal service and feeding assistance functions.
• Performs additional select care to patients as directed.
• Collaborates with other team members to perform other services as directed.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Strong written, verbal, and nonverbal interpersonal and professional communication skills.
• Demonstrates accountability for own actions.
• Willingly provides service in a courteous manner.
• Can prioritize, organize, and multitask.
• Able to take direction well, but also be self-directed and motivated.
• Requires a high degree of responsibility and responsiveness.
• Must be able to lift.
• Available for one week of full-time training.
• Three (3) months of clinical experience or CNA license required OR currently enrolled in Nursing school.
