About the role
The Senior Patient Care Technician works under the direction of a Registered Nurse. This role involves performing direct patient care tasks such as bathing, assisting with elimination, bed making, and vital signs monitoring. Other responsibilities include transporting patients and patient-related materials, greeting and orienting patients, providing meal service and feeding assistance, and collaborating with other team members to perform additional services as directed.
Responsibilities
- Performs direct patient care tasks such as bathing, assisting with elimination, bed making, and vital signs monitoring.
- Transports patients and patient-related materials in a safe, timely, and professional manner.
- Greets and orients patients to the patient care area.
- Provides meal service and feeding assistance functions.
- Provides additional select care to patients.
- Collaborates with other team members to perform other services as directed.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Strong written, verbal, and nonverbal interpersonal and professional communication skills are required.
- Demonstrates accountability for own actions.
- Provides service in a willing and courteous manner.
- Demonstrates ability to prioritize, organize, and multi-task.
- Able to take direction well, but also be self-directed and motivated.
- Requires a high degree of responsibility and responsiveness.
- Deal effectively with patients, visitors, situations, and other Care Team members, while maintaining emotional control.
Qualifications
- Must be able to lift.
- Must be available for one week of full-time training.
- Three (3) months of clinical experience or CNA license required, or currently enrolled in Nursing school PCT, CNA, Patient Care Tech.
