About the role

The Senior Patient Care Technician works under the direction of a Registered Nurse.

Responsibilities

  • Performs direct patient care such as bathing, assisting with elimination, bed making, and vital signs
  • Transports patients and patient-related materials in a safe, timely, and professional manner
  • Greets and orients patients to the patient care area
  • Performs meal service and feeding assistance functions
  • Provides additional select care to patients
  • Collaborates with other team members to perform other services as directed

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Three (3) months of Clinical Experience or CNA license required OR currently enrolled in Nursing school

Skills

  • Ability to use a computer for documentation and work related purposes
  • Strong written, verbal and nonverbal interpersonal and professional communication skills are required
  • Demonstrates accountability for own actions
  • Provides service in a willing and courteous manner
  • Demonstrates ability to prioritize, organize and multi-task
  • Able to take direction well, but also be self-directed and motivated
  • Requires a high degree of responsibility and responsiveness
  • Deal effectively with patients, visitors, situations, and other Care Team members, while maintaining emotional control

Additional Requirements

  • Must be able to lift
  • Must be available for one week of full-time training
