About the role
The Senior Patient Care Technician works under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
Responsibilities
- Performs direct patient care such as bathing, assisting with elimination, bed making, and vital signs
- Transports patients and patient-related materials in a safe, timely, and professional manner
- Greets and orients patients to the patient care area
- Performs meal service and feeding assistance functions
- Provides additional select care to patients
- Collaborates with other team members to perform other services as directed
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED required
- Three (3) months of Clinical Experience or CNA license required OR currently enrolled in Nursing school
Skills
- Ability to use a computer for documentation and work related purposes
- Strong written, verbal and nonverbal interpersonal and professional communication skills are required
- Demonstrates accountability for own actions
- Provides service in a willing and courteous manner
- Demonstrates ability to prioritize, organize and multi-task
- Able to take direction well, but also be self-directed and motivated
- Requires a high degree of responsibility and responsiveness
- Deal effectively with patients, visitors, situations, and other Care Team members, while maintaining emotional control
