Sr. Patient Account Associate

Responsibilities

• Reviews, corrects and submits claims to payers.
• Communicates with patients, government agencies and third party payers to gather, process and record information needed for appropriate reimbursement.
• Reviews unpaid accounts, initiates corrective actions to collect the accounts, and follows up to ensure expected result is achieved.
• Initiates collection action for past due and denied claims.
• Calculates write-off and debit or credit adjustments.
• Posts complex electronic and manual cash receipts, adjustments and denials and ensures reconciliation of all posted data.
• Affords assistance to team members as knowledge expert for billing processes.
• Consistently meets or exceeds productivity and quality performance expectations.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Education and Work Experience: Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience.
• Licenses/Certifications: Certified Professional Coder (CPC) - AAPC.

Qualifications

Two years' healthcare billing experience.

Skills

Knowledge of healthcare billing processes, proficiency in using healthcare billing software, excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Benefits

The estimated base pay for this position is $25.00 to $30.01. Additional individual compensation may be available for this role through differentials, extra shift incentives, bonuses, etc. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package, and a comprehensive benefits program is available for qualifying positions.
