About the role

The Senior Paralegal - Patent Litigation supports all phases of patent litigation, including discovery, trial, and appeal, and assists with preparing for depositions, witness interviews, hearings, trials, and arbitrations. They also coordinate efforts between attorneys, clients, outside legal counsel, opposing legal counsel, other parties, and outside vendors. This role requires strong skills in Microsoft Office products, in-depth knowledge of the practice area, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong organizational and attention-to-detail abilities, and solid technical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Supports in all phases of patent litigation including discovery, trial, and appeal.
  • Aids in preparation for depositions, witness interviews, hearings, trials, and arbitrations.
  • Assists with setting up, tracking, and maintaining matters using legal software like Relativity.
  • Coordinates document databases for case tracking and discovery.
  • Assists with patent litigation, patent appeals, and contested proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) and U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC).

Requirements

This position requires a minimum of 5 years of paralegal experience in patent litigation. A bachelor’s degree and/or a paralegal certificate are preferred. Experience with Relativity databases, U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) matters, Inter Partes Review (IPR), and trial experience is desired.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or Paralegal Certificate preferred.
  • Paralegal Certificate preferred.
  • 5+ years of paralegal experience in patent litigation.
  • Experience with Relativity databases, U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) matters, Inter Partes Review (IPR), and trial experience preferred.

  • Strong skills in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Solid technical skills to set-up, track, and maintain matters.

Pay

The compensation offered for this position ranges from $51.21 to $71.08 per hour, depending on the candidate's geographic market location.

Schedule

The position offers a hybrid work schedule, allowing for a combination of remote and in-office work.
