Sr. Organizational Development Consultant and Executive Coach

Job Summary

Lead organizational development consulting efforts for schools/units. Responsible for the design and implementation of organization redesign; strategy development; culture change; change management; dynamic work; and executive coaching.

Job-Specific Responsibilities

  • Conduct organizational assessments and organization re-design
  • Consult on the design and implementation of large-scale change efforts, dynamic work strategies and strategic planning
  • Serve as executive coach to senior administrative leaders and faculty leaders
  • Collect, share and publicize resources, tools and best practices for key initiatives, and convene relevant communities of learning
  • Facilitate leadership development workshops for senior administrative leaders and faculty leaders
  • Develop and implement organization development solutions in partnership with related HHR departments and local school/unit leadership
  • Collaborate with relevant CWD colleagues in developing intervention strategies
  • Represent CWD and HHR on University and external committees

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required
  • Minimum of 8 years’ relevant work experience
  • Certificate in coaching (or equivalent training) with a minimum of three years of leadership coaching experience required
  • Master’s degree in organizational development (or related area) preferred along with a minimum of eight years OD consulting experience
  • Demonstrated excellence in consulting skills working with executives and large-scale interventions
  • Demonstrated expertise in a broad array of leadership and organization development areas, with an emphasis on organization design, strategy development, implementing change, and organizational culture
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly assess organizational needs and culture and implement appropriate interventions
  • Demonstrates insight and creativity and offers options and solutions when approaching issues or problems
  • Effective communication and influencing skills, both written and oral, with the ability to clearly and concisely share information and ideas with a range of senior audiences
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong qualitative research skills
  • Capacity to develop and maintain strong professional relationships across the organization and to work collaboratively with colleagues
  • Able to maintain confidential information and exercise discretion and tact
  • A flexible “can do” attitude and approach to the work

  • Standard Hours/Schedule: 35 hours per week

  • Work Format Details: This position has been determined by school or unit leaders that some of the duties and responsibilities can be effectively performed at a non-Harvard location. The work schedule and location will be set by the department at its discretion and based upon operational needs.
