Responsibilities
- Provides dedicated support for imaging and spectroscopy platforms at the Omega Laser Facility.
- Supports x-ray imaging platforms and spectroscopy systems.
- Collaborates with scientific staff on research plans to utilize optical diagnostics on OMEGA and EP, velocity interferometry, Thomson spectroscopy and anticipated Raman spectroscopy on OMEGA.
- Manages scheduling and conflict management for x-ray diagnostic systems.
- Advises DD&I group lead on readiness and scheduling-related concerns.
Requirements
- Associate's degree and 5 years of relevant experience required.
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Qualifications
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to work in a cleanroom environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- High degree of manual dexterity.
- Strong interpersonal skills working in a team-based environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn additional software as needed.
- Ability to qualify as a NYS Radiological Worker (certification provided at LLE).
- Applicants should possess a technical background, with experience working with optical, electrical, and/or mechanical systems including vacuum and pressurized gas systems.
Skills
- Knowledge of optical, electrical, and/or mechanical systems including vacuum and pressurized gas systems.
- Experience with optical spectroscopy and/or optical interferometry systems.
Pay
The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
