Responsibilities
- Leads projects, mentors junior staff, and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to achieve project goals.
- Designs, builds, commissions, and operates the new experimental target area.
- Establishes target area requirements and realistic milestones and deadlines to support commissioning experiments.
- Collaborates with vendors to collect information and generate budget summaries.
- Coordinates the assembly and integration of all new target area equipment with facilities, mechanical engineering, and operations.
- Creates and manages technical documentation to support the operation of the target area.
- Develops a long-term preventative maintenance plan.
- Hires and manages additional operators and technicians as the target area comes online.
- Oversees all future target area projects.
Requirements
- Associates degree and 5 years of relevant experience required.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Must be qualified as a Radiation Worker within 12 months of hire under LLE’s direction.
Qualifications
- Familiarity with laser systems and safety protocols.
- Strong interpersonal skills working in a team-based environment.
- Experience developing a vision for the target area.
- Attention to detail.
- Proven experience with optical, electrical, controls, and vacuum systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a cleanroom environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Pay
The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
Schedule
MTW-OPAL is a full-time position with a scheduled weekly hours of 40.
