About the role

This on-site position in San Jose, CA reports to the Director of Engineering. The Sr. Engineer, Optical will assemble and align optical systems, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and perform hands-on tests with data collection, analysis, and presentation.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on assembly and alignment of optical systems
• Collaborate with senior optical engineers in the design of instruments
• Perform hands-on tests, including data collection, analysis, and presentation of data to project teams and customers

Requirements

• Minimum MSc with emphasis on optics
• At least 2–5 years’ experience in a relevant field
• Optical design skills and knowledge of ZEMAX or similar optical simulation packages
• Hands-on assembly and alignment of optical systems
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly with interdisciplinary teams, both verbally and in writing
• US Permanent Resident or US Citizen status due to project requirements
